The reason she felt it was important to gain the attention of politicians to take action to stop the global warming. Swedish media captured Thunbergs strike, and message was spread. Thousands of students around all over the world joined the #FridaysforFuture protest, avoiding the school day on Friday to protest against climate changes. Climate activists from all around the world joined together to organize for the Global Strike for Climate. The event was hugely successful, over 1.6million individuals from 150 countries took part.
