Amanda Seales formerly Amanda Diva (born in Los Angeles California on July 1st in the 1st of July, 1980) is a comedian and DJ. She moved to Orlando when she was 8 years old. When she graduated from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Amanda went to SUNY Purchase to study undergrad. She earned her Columbia University masters in African American Studies, with a particular focus on hip-hop was her second degree. In 1994, she began her career in her first Nickelodeon Comedy My Brother and Me as Deonne. Later, she became popular as the VJ Amanda Diva and the face of MTV2 Sucker Free Sundays. It was a while that she worked as a spoken-word poet, and recording artist. In 2011, she returned to television and added stand-up comedy to her list of credits. The company she runs for her production, DivaWorks Inc. is where she develops and presents smart and funny material that is suitable for stage and screen. She's very active in work targeting the empowerment of women in particular as well as the ending of racial discrimination and is the social media ambassador for her mother's home island of Grenada, W.I.
